The Hype Fashion – November 2022

“Expensive clothes are a waste of money.”

Meryl Streep

It-Piece

Horror Story

Whether an episode of “The Addams Family” is enough to make you shiver at night or your pulse is slumbering away on the ghost train, you need at least one fashion item that celebrates the proportions of body parts. These can be pretty pendants like the one here at GCDS, a bag that anatomically represents the beating heart, or a necklace with eyes and ears lined up like links.

We love

Favorite child

How do we manage not to lose hope among all the gray faces? By enjoying the bright color of our favorite bag! It’s called Chelsea, comes in campfire orange and a hip croc print and was produced by Liebeskind Berlin. Chelsea is the best friend who conjures up a tissue when the mascara smudges or helps out with gloves before our fingers turn into icicles.
Liebeskind Berlin, Chelsea L Waxy Croco in “Mexican Pepper”, made of cowhide, approx. 299.-

Nice to have

Serpent

Pretty hot, the good piece from Guess, which we now combine with skirts and jeans. The snake print is in line with the current trend, the synthetic material is good for the conscience and the metal heel will lift your spirits to infinity when you wear these boots.
Guess, “Samwell”, approx. 235.-

Darling

New Bond

It’s quite clear to us which role we want to see Idris Elba in on the big screen in the near future. Until then, others are snapping up the Brit – such as Gucci, for whose campaign the actor slips into colorful suits that are just as nostalgic as Gucci’s timepieces. The models in the GUCCI 25H range are inspired by modern buildings and architecture. The result: a multi-layered design and a profile so flat that we would be willing to pull out a magnifying glass for a closer look. In general, it is worth taking a close look at Gucci’s watches, with gimmicks such as the slim case or flying tourbillon caliber captivating us just as much as Idris Elba and his decision for the next role. gucci.com

The Look

Past meets future

A little bit of 20s glam and a whole lot of snotty attitude: Fendi shows looks that would have made Gatsby clap. Fake fur meets transparency, beige meets green, and somewhere in between the Mary Jane pumps dance so exuberantly that there is hardly any sole left after the big party.

Book

The Visionary

A fan forked out 25 million dollars for the “Air Force 1” sneaker from Virgil Abloh’s pen. A number that symbolizes the fascination with the former Louis Vuitton designer, who unfortunately had to take to the skies far too early. There he will applaud the work that Assouline has created in his honor together with Anders Christian Madsen: a thick book with many pages, available for 130.- or as Ultimate Collection for no less than 1’250.- (still a bargain compared to the shoes mentioned at the beginning… just saying!). “Louis Vuitton: Virgil Abloh” is a portrait of a man who tore down walls and changed the language of fashion forever – without a fashion degree or vitamin B. Anders Christian Madsen,
“Louis Vuitton: Virgil Abloh”, Assouline, approx. 130.- or as Ultimate Collection for approx. 1
‘250.-

Unfuck the World

Ringlet row

Instead of staring at the smartphone screen incessantly, we could pass the time in a different way. With their joint collection, Andy Wolf and Lana Grossa are giving us the kick up the ass we so desperately need right now: In addition to six cool, limited edition glasses in a striped pattern, the team also includes a DIY knitting kit with yarn that matches the respective glasses models. Balaclava, hat, scarf or glasses case? Knit what you like – and what suits your own abilities. Another reason to focus on knitting: Andy Wolf and Lana Grossa are donating the net proceeds from the sets sold to the Styrian children’s hospice Sterntalerhof. Andy Wolf X Lana Grossa, glasses available from November, DIY knitting kit with wool, knitting and crochet hook, knitting loom and instructions, approx. 80(andy-wolf-store.com and at Lana Grossa)

New Collection

Never fading

Just a moment, a few seconds, that decide whether silver becomes jewelry. Nicole Hana Kim draws inspiration for her new Malva collection from the mallow blossom, which she captures withering in silver and gold. The metal plates are heated to the melting point, where they change their structure and their corners curl slightly due to the heat. One wink too late and the silver melts on the workbench. The resilience of the Korean mallow is remarkable, but in no way stands up to comparison with the jewelry from hana kim. These nestle against our lobes as earrings in the shape of flower heads or blossoms or adorn our bodies in the form of filigree bracelets, necklaces and rings, which are available in silver and gold. They are made in Zurich with silver from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein, and gold-plated with recycled gold in Lucerne. hanakim.ch
