The 7 men’s trends for fall/winter 2024-25

Been there, worn that – but with a fresh twist! The focus for the fall/winter 2024-25 men’s trends may be on comfort, but style and individuality are not neglected. Wide, loose and casual jeans are replacing slim fit. The loose look is also the order of the day for pants, and even skirts for men à la William Wallace are making a statement. But: this has nothing to do with the old genderless trend. This season is all about masculine fashion that proves that men’s fashion is anything but boring. And there is a hint of nostalgia.

Here are the 7 hottest men’s trends for fall/winter 2024-25

Hint: If you were born in the 80s, you might feel the unstoppable urge to play Pulp, Blur, Nirvana and Run D.M.C on your Spotify playlist over and over again.

1. britpop

Um, hello – this look exudes serious 90s throwback vibes à la Jarvis Cocker, lead singer of the band Pulp. Britpop fuses British influences with traditional patterns like plaid and vibrant colors. The combination of classic tailoring and experimental elements perfectly captures the vibe of the era.

Do: Experiment with blazers and pants with checked patterns or bold color combinations and clever layering.
Don’t: Smile or “do whatever common people do”.

2nd Grandad Revival

The V-neck cardigan is a layering must-have this season, bringing back modern cool by revisiting an old-school classic. This trend mixes retro vibes with contemporary styling-it’s all about celebrating relaxed, casual fits and stylish knits.

Do: Choose eye-catching, fun colors or patterns and combine them with wide pants or baggy jeans to make the cardigan the understated hero of your look.
Don’t: Don’t take the grandpa style too literally and completely copy Mr. Dieter from the second floor.

3. Frankie Says Relax

Casual cuts are the dominant trend for men’s fall/winter 2024-25 trends. Baggy jeans, cargo pants and loose-fitting suit pants define the relaxed coolness of this season.

Do: Combine loose blazers with T-shirts or eye-catching sweaters.
Don’t: Don’t overdo it with too many flashy, prominent brand logos. The key is effortless coolness, relax, don’t do it!

4th Men in Skirts

Men in skirts have been tried on and off in fashion over the years, but have never really caught on as a mainstream trend. But for fall/winter 2024/25, it’s officially a style to embrace and experiment with. Marc Jacobs rocked it first in the early 2000s, and before him, William Wallace (“Braveheart“) simply slayed this trend!

Do: The key is to break up the silhouette to emphasize the skirt. Layer with mid-length jackets such as leather jackets, bomber jackets or mess jackets. Footwear plays a crucial role for this look – go for chunky worker boots, loafers with visible socks or colorful sneakers for a laid-back vibe.
Don’t: …go commando.

5. run D.M.C

The tracksuit trend gives great throwback vibes to when Run-D.M.C first made sportswear cool in the 80s. Their iconic Adidas tracksuits redefined street style by fusing music, sport and fashion into one individual style.

Do: Embrace the full tracksuit look or mix and match with casual pieces. Combine it with minimalist sneakers.
Don’t: Gold chains or bling bling.

6 Smells Like Teen Spirit

The sweater, a winter basic, is anything but basic this season. This trend picks up on the rebellious, relaxed fashion of the 90s grunge and alternative rock scene. The oversized, casual, second-hand sweaters are strongly reminiscent of icons such as Kurt Cobain or the relaxed style of British bands such as Blur and Oasis.

Do: Combine oversized sweaters with loose-fitting pants or ripped jeans.
Don’t: Don’t overdo it with accessories – e.g. drugs and all that.

7th Tyler Durden Channeling

Leather jackets in shades such as oxblood, cherry red or burgundy are a real eye-catcher for outerwear this season and radiate serious Tyler Durden vibes. Pure bold, rebellious energy.

Do: Whether you opt for shiny surfaces, matte textures or the vintage look – these jackets effortlessly capture the cool, casual attitude.
Don’t:…talk about Fight Club.
