The invitation for the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring Summer 2025 collection arrived in an elegant box containing a monogrammed Louis Vuitton Apple AirTag – a subtle nod to the collection’s travel-inspired theme. This detail formed the basis for an extraordinary journey designed by Pharrell Williams, the visionary creative director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear.
Louis Vuitton SS25 Men’s Collection
Pharrell Williams presented his third collection for Louis Vuitton on 18. June on the roof of the Maison de l’UNESCO in Paris. The venue perfectly reflected the theme of the Louis Vuitton Prêt-à-Porter Homme Ss 25 collection: under an atmospheric Parisian sky threatening rain, the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection was unveiled, adorned with lush greenery and grass cut-outs in LV Damier print. This environment symbolized international unity and cultural diversity and reflected the global perspective of the collection. The models elegantly circled the large UNESCO globe, underlining the message of global unity.
A celebration of global unity and cultural diversity
Pharrell’s vision for the SS25 men’s collection celebrates global diversity through a color palette that transitions from dark to light tones. The silhouettes reflect current menswear trends inspired by different types of travel: Aviation influences can be found in short jackets and flight suits, while diplomatic themes inspire double-breasted coats and suits. Leisurewear includes tracksuits and workwear aimed at leisure travelers, while sophisticated sportswear appeals to explorers. There is also a tribute to soccer, which embodies the spirit of sport and has the power to unite the world.
And the details?
Up close, the outfits reveal intricate details that invite the viewer to zoom in – the buttons on the garments are decorated with miniature world maps, airplane ornaments, pearls and crystals. Piping appears as garlands of tiny beads along the sportswear. Embroidery techniques are presented in imaginative fairisle checks made of crystals, beads and threads as well as in beaded Damier window patterns. New patterns such as “Damoflage” and “Snake-o-flage” complement the classic, embossed monogram for added texture.
At the same time, the multicolored “LVERS” Damier motif in jacquard and denim provides colorful accents. Accessories in the collection include a refreshed Speedy P9 in tonal black and sun-bleached fluorescent colors with the LVERS-Damier motif. Canvas bags with “LVERS United” tags, denim jacquard bags with damier silk print accents and leather silhouette bags with embossed luggage tag details underline the modern interpretations. The collaboration with Air Afrique combines blue-green tartan patterns with damier checks, which are complemented by pendants with planetary logos. Micro Perfo bags in black Monogram leather and luxurious Louis Vuitton Night bags with pearl details offer sophisticated options.
The legacy of Louis Vuitton
Since Marc Jacobs’ tenure as Artistic Director in 1997, Louis Vuitton has evolved from a luxury travel accessories brand to a leading luxury fashion company. The SS 25 collection by Pharrell Williams reaffirms this travel heritage and seamlessly blends it into modern, wearable designs. His refined approach heralds a new era for Louis Vuitton, combining rich heritage with modern style and appealing to a global audience.
