For Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 men’s collection, Pharrell Williams is narrowing his focus. Pharrell’s previous collections for Louis Vuitton often played with different characters, cultures, and influences. This season, he’s concentrating on a single figure: the surfer. Not, however, as a laid-back cliché with sun-bleached hair, but as the maison’s newest dandy.
That’s an exciting approach. Over the decades, surf culture has maintained its own distinct identity, largely independent of seasonal fashion trends and the demands of the luxury world. Williams draws on its characteristic dress codes and reinterprets them. In doing so, he plays with the aesthetics of surf culture and combines them with the craftsmanship and sophistication of Louis Vuitton.
The surfer-dandy look emerges from unexpected combinations: tailored pieces are worn with denim shorts, ties are paired with baseball caps, and structured outerwear is layered over faded denim. Even cut-off jeans look surprisingly elegant. The runway styling amplifies the look, but underneath lies a wardrobe of relaxed tailoring, knitwear, and faded denim—pieces that are sure to outlast the show itself with ease.
Fashion is making ever greater inroads into the world of sports. Lewis Hamilton turned the Formula 1 paddock into a runway, while Louis Vuitton is firmly rooted in the sport itself through its decade-long partnership with Formula 1, its iconic Trophy Trunks, and its presence at Grand Prix events around the world.

More is definitely more. Part souvenir jacket, part passport, this vibrant collage of travel destinations, memories, and Louis Vuitton signatures embodies everything the House has always stood for: the joy of travel.

With the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2027 collection, the fashion house turns its attention to yet another sports culture. Williams breaks away from the usual clichés surrounding surfing and presents a more sophisticated, contemporary interpretation of its wardrobe. For a lifestyle that has largely existed outside the realm of luxury fashion until now, this feels long overdue.
