Kahani Dor is an ode to Indian tradition. The label has now found a new home in the Kari Kari boutique in Zurich.
Stamp by stamp, Kahani Dor creates colorful patterns on organic cotton. The clothes are still spun and woven by hand, as the Swiss label celebrates Indian craftsmanship and is therefore one of Olivia Grossenbacher’s greatest prides. The designer herself lived in India for five years, where she discovered not only her love for her husband but also for the locals: she began to encourage young people there to appreciate handmade clothing again and to wear it with pride. This gave rise to the idea of reviving traditional craftsmanship with Indian patterns in a fashion label of her own. The social aspect is not neglected, as Grossenbacher gives local families the chance of a better life.
