The Zurich label Ikou Tschüss is breaking new ground with small series and made-to-measure work. Currently at the start: the collection “A Weekend with Ikou Tschüss”, which was produced entirely under fair conditions.
Ikou Tschüss became famous for her foulards crocheted with recycled cord. The colorful silk scarves quickly made their way across the Zurich border – and even into 52 stores around the world. All well and good, this success, which unfortunately put paid to the idea of a lovingly produced one-off. Guya Marini and Carmen D’Apollonio pulled the handbrake on the globalization process – and have since concentrated on small series and made-to-measure work. It’s fun again and really boosts inspiration. That’s why Ikou Tschüss immediately agreed to cooperate with the Helvetas Fairshop. The result: a collection of six pieces made entirely under fair conditions in Nepal and India from purely organic, GOTS-certified cotton and Eri silk, in the production of which the silkworms are not thrown away but recycled. The collection “A Weekend with Ikou Tschüss”, consisting of a bag, two toiletry bags, a blanket, a T-shirt and a silk foulard in two colors, is now available in the Helvetas Fairshop.
