The Fendi Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection marks the return of Maria Grazia Chiuri to the house where her career began – now as Chief Creative Director. For the 80 looks, structure shaped the silhouette, with elongated proportions and surface details replacing volume as the central element. Fendi, long associated with rich colors and material opulence, reduced its palette this season. “Black – the new color.” It functions as a foundation, sharpens the tailoring, intensifies lace and makes the construction visible. The direction is clear: reduction as a strategy.

Womenswear is characterized by elongated silhouettes and controlled proportions. Lace – traditionally associated with romance – is disciplined into black Chantilly column dresses. Transparency appears, but never loose; leather inserts structure the body, while chokers frame the neck. The interplay of masculine severity and feminine delicacy is reminiscent of the codes of Karl Lagerfeld’s Fendi. Fur, central to Fendi’s DNA, frames collars and gilets with restraint rather than excess. Evening looks in shades of sand and muted gold are deliberately set rather than decorative. The result is a femininity defined by self-assurance rather than fragility – unmistakably Chiuri.

Menswear focuses on outerwear and precise tailoring. Suits are cut slim and elongated, close to the body, while fur coats emphasize Fendi’s material tradition. Parkas and black, tailored overcoats bring urban restraint into the picture. At first glance, the mood seems almost reserved. But the detail is on the ground: The footwear becomes a statement. Zebra-striped boots, contrasting low-profile sneakers and studded leather sandals shift the tone from classic to disruptive and break the austerity of tailoring.

The baguette returns
Launched in 1997, the house’s original It bag remains one of the defining accessories of modern luxury. Its presence quietly echoes a defining chapter in Fendi’s history. Finished in textured surfaces, it contrasts with the restraint of the Fall/Winter 2026/27 capsule.

Fendi Fall/Winter 2026/27 looks deliberately controlled, with the impression that Maria Grazia Chiuri still has something up her sleeve – and it remains to be seen how powerfully she will shape Fendi in the coming seasons.
