Chanel Fall/Winter 2025/26 – The illusion of tradition

Chanel Fall/Winter 2025/26 – The illusion of tradition

It is said that Coco Chanel often played with a ribbon while refining her designs. This motif now runs through the Chanel fall/winter 2025/26 ready-to-wear collection – as bows, decorative ribbons and fine details. Like a stage full of dreamlike illusions, the collection plays with sizes, lengths and proportions, staged by Willo Perron against the surreal backdrop of the Grand Palais.

The Chanel fall-winter 2025/26 collection

The illusion of tradition

At first glance, these looks resemble the classic Chanel tweed suit – a trademark of Karl Lagerfeld. However, subtle changes in proportion, structure and details reveal a quiet evolution.

The mandala effect

The collection deceives our perception by layering transparent organza over classic designs, merging reality with illusion. The iconic Chanel silhouette remains, but its essence changes – a classic tweed suit, but not quite.

A clever distraction

Sharp cuts and classic Chanel details keep loyal fans happy, while clever layering techniques and elongated silhouettes subtly shift traditional proportions. Off-the-shoulder cuts and dramatic styling add modern touches.

Luxury meets comfort

The tweed suit is becoming more practical than ever, with oversized proportions that promise warmth and comfort – without sacrificing elegance and luxury. Proof that opulence and everyday practicality can harmonize perfectly.

A cozy revolution

Bow details in cardigans and sweaters combine tradition with reinvention, guaranteeing timeless warmth and effortless elegance for Chanel lovers across generations.

Denim à la Chanel

Denim is given a playful, almost magical touch – with transparent layers, soft color gradients and flowing silhouettes. A functional material that takes on a whole new level of sophistication thanks to Chanel’s unmistakable design.

Unstoppable evolution

The Chanel design team is boldly venturing into modern, edgy looks this season. Stark contrasts, exciting textures, airy transparency and unconventional materials blur the boundaries between tradition and innovation.

“Accessories are what makes or marks a woman.“ – Gabrielle Chanel

Coco Chanel’s love of pearls and eye-catching accessories is deeply rooted in the brand’s DNA. She believed that the right accessory can transform an entire outfit. The fall/winter 2025/26 collection starts right there – with expressive jewelry, exquisite shoes and timeless handbags.

Chanel’s tweed suit has been subtly redesigned before our eyes over the past two seasons – a gentle departure from tradition. It looks like Karl Chanel, but the proportions and details evolve. But before skepticism arises, let’s remember: Coco Chanel was a visionary, not a traditionalist. Her designs stood for function, freedom and modernity – always one step ahead, always outside social norms. The Chanel Fall/Winter 2025/26 ready-to-wear collection continues this legacy and takes sophistication to a new level through bold innovation.
