We love The Worst Girl in America, the sister of a somewhat disgraced actor and an athlete who is aiming high: here are our current heroes and heroines.
Rachel Sennott
JOKE
It’s nice when it meets with approval. Rachel Sennott landed a hit with her series “I Love LA”. Since then, LA has also loved the author and actress. Second season: Coming soon. In the meantime, Rachel is having a blast as a producer with her latest Netflix hit “Big Mistakes”. As a former stand-up comedienne, she knows where to go to make it really hurt and still be funny. Her characters are a total mess and therefore perfect antiheroines for a generation where total mess has long been part of everyday life.

Noah Jupe
KING OF HEART
Drama, baby! Noah Jupe is apparently playing through William Shakespeare in record time, as if he were a “Tetris” speed-runner on Twitch. After his goosebump-inducing performance in the film “Hamnet”, the Englishman is now drawn to the theater stage in London. There, together with Sadie Sink (“Stranger Things”), he fills his handkerchiefs with tears in “Romeo & Juliet”. Ten years ago, George Clooney called Noah the best child actor ever. It seems as if the now 21-year-old doesn’t want to let these laurels wither as an adult either.

Silvia Salis
DOES IT WITH THE LEFT HAND
Silvia Salis has landed many a big hit in her career. As an athlete, she threw the hammer at top level, represented Italy at the World Championships and the Olympic Games. Now she is embarking on her second career as mayor of Genoa and giving the country’s left wing a boost. Salis is already being touted as a top challenger for the next elections for head of government. All the competition can think of? Bitching about Silvia’s Manolo Blahniks. As if we needed any more reasons to be a fan.

Sami Galbi
GLOBEPOPPER
His music sounds like floating over a souq in a flying car from “Blade Runner”. Retro-futuristic electropop wafts and is driven by North African Raï and Chaâbi rhythms in directions that no one has ever heard before. Sami Galbi attracted international attention with his debut album “Ylh Bye Bye”. Now the music of the Swiss-Moroccan artist is making even bigger waves thanks to a concert tour through China. Luckily for us, however, he is returning to Europe in time for the festival summer.

A’ja Wilson
WITH THE BEST DUNK
A’ja Wilson is already immortalized with a statue in her home town. Yet the 29-year-old has only just warmed up. Which in her case means: four-time WNBA Most Valuable Player, three-time WNBA champion, two-time Olympic champion – and, since signing a new three-year contract worth five million dollars, the highest-paid female basketball player of all time. But even Michael Jordan only became immortal when he got his own Nike sneaker – oh, A’already has that too? A’bsolutely. Soon available in the “Gold Standard” version. What else?

Mondo Duplantis
GETTING HIGH
If Mondo Duplantis flies any higher, he will soon need his own air traffic controller. The Swede recently broke the world record in the pole vault. Again. He has achieved this 15 times in the past six years. And he looks as relaxed as if he were jumping on the TV couch for a “Bob Ross” marathon. Mondo has now married model Desiré Inglander. The couple regularly make a stylish splash at the Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks. We congratulate them on their successful landing and are eagerly awaiting number 16.

Slayyyter
AMERICAN NIGHTMARE
We definitely don’t want to go out with the Worst Guy in America, even if he is working on his own dance hall next to the White House. But the Wor$t Girl in America? Beep beep, we’ll order the cab and get the hard seltzer out of the fridge. Slayyyter has given herself this title for her new album and follows up the words with hits. Against her bass monsters, Charli xcx and Kesha seem like novices who bring herbal tea to your bedside. The singer is sure to be canonized.

Thomas Bangalter
PUNK IS DEAD
This man is finally out in the fresh air. Thomas Bangalter made music history as one half of Daft Punk. Because the Frenchman wore a helmet for 25 years, he can still go to the kiosk to buy cigarettes undisturbed and is not chased through front gardens by screaming fans. Although his days as a disco robot are numbered, Bangalter is still busy at the weekend. For example, as an avant-garde artist who is presenting an immersive installation for Art Basel together with his colleague Rampa. Get lucky and check it out.

Jayden Ali
GOOD IN THE BUID
What’s that saying again? “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.” This sarcasm has had its day with Jayden Ali. Because his buildings are reason to dance for joy. The architect has big things in mind for his native London and attaches great importance to the smallest detail. For example, he was involved in the design of the metropolis’ newest museum, V&A East. For Jayden, urban upgrading does not mean polished matcha counters, but districts where everyone feels at home, regardless of their background.

Pauline Chalamet
SOEUR ANNOUNCED
Oh, little brothers. Sometimes they’re embarrassing because they pick their ears with a soup spoon at the dinner table. And sometimes because they make fun of ballet and opera, only to fail to win the Oscar again. Pauline Chalamet takes Timmy’s antics in her stride. And is soon no longer considered an insider tip in Hollywood. After a series of charming indie productions and a leading role in the series “The Sex Lives of College Girls”, Pauline is now heading for the penthouse in a career lift thanks to “The Devil Wears Prada 2”.
