Every beginning starts with an idea. This applies to art just as much as it does to travel. Susanne Thun has combined both, the work of her husband Matteo, who has lent his signature to many design objects and buildings, and Walter Pfeiffer’s photography. So the artist Pfeiffer traveled through Italy. In his luggage: his camera, the two Thun sons Tin Tin and Poldi and the assignment to capture Matteo Thun’s work in photographs. In addition to the furniture, products and buildings, the Thun juniors also made it into the picture – and a lot of humor. The photographs, taken on the journey from South Tyrol to Capri, can be seen in the book “In the Summer of 2009”.

In The Summer Of 2009
Susanne Thun had the idea of sending the Swiss artist Walter Pfeiffer on a journey to Italy and deep into her husband’s work. From South Tyrol to Capri, Pfeiffer focused his camera on objects and architecture by Matteo Thun. Also present: Thun’s sons Tin Tin and Poldi, who celebrate their father’s legacy with their presence. Susanne Thun, “In the Summer of 2009”, Scheidegger & Spiess, ca. 49(scheidegger-spiess.ch)
