Patrick Pierazzoli: Road Trip

So now we can fly on vacation again. The airlines are undercutting each other with offers – the sandy beaches are calling. I don’t feel like traveling in full planes yet, and I certainly don’t want to sit in quarantine in a new corona hotspot all of a sudden. I don’t feel very comfortable on trains either, so the road is my only option. I would love to sit in the new ID.BUZZ and drive off. The successor to the legendary Bulli not only looks incredibly beautiful, it is also the first van to have a fully automated driving mode. And of course it is electric. Two 275 kW engines provide all-wheel drive and a range of up to 600 kilometers. Touchscreens, augmented reality and panoramic views turn the whole thing into a road trip of the future. Literally, because the VW study is not due to hit the roads until 2022 (from around 40,000). I would have been surprised if 2020 had brought anything good.

Marina Warth: Just Relax

When it comes to jogging pants, I’m like Karl Lagerfeld. Anyone who wears them is a schlufi. Of course, I am as alone with this opinion as Don Quixote tilting at windmills. Has Corona taught me better? Not really, at least not when it comes to jogging bottoms. Perhaps in the sense that the world keeps on turning, that canceled appointments and events give you room to breathe and that an empty calendar promises more freedom than the longest trip to the most exotic location. Yes, Corona was – is! – shit. Sitting at home as well, not greeting friends uninhibitedly, not visiting parents, no nightcap after work, no eating out. Before it gets pathetic, back to the sweatpants, which I still refuse to wear. Since the lockdown, I prefer to get this feeling of well-being, which others only get when wearing the same pants, with my bedspread from 2222Studio (approx. 245.-). And guaranteed to last long after that.

Marco Rüegg: Want to play?

The game is called: Who is afraid of the infected? It goes like this: The government dictates the rules, we play along. All. Run away? Stupid idea. At the airport you can hear your own echo, at the train station there are only masked disinfectant junkies hanging around. Empty city centers, empty stores, promenades paved with warning signs. The Jungfrau Railway ceases operations for the first time since the First World War. Public life? Paralyzed as not even under the terror of Hitler’s Germany. The individual? Shocked, shaken. That’s what my inner seismograph shows. It has 80 natural white paper pages. Drawings, newspaper clippings, words without structure or concept. Two Hahnemühle Fine Art A6 sketchbooks fill my Corona diaries. Contemporary documents at 8.- each, via kunstpark-shop.de or in your trusted stationery shop. If she survives the lockdown…
