In the glamorous world of show business, celebrity fragrances have long since found their place. Celebrity fragrances have been an integral part of the perfume industry since the 1980s. From Elizabeth Taylor’s first fragrance creation to today’s creations by stars such as Rihanna and Ariana Grande, the perfume business is a lucrative way for celebrities to expand their brand and connect with their fans.
In 2024, Kylie Jenner conquered the sales charts with her latest perfume “Cosmic”, winning the title for the most successful perfume of the year. However, despite the great marketing, many celebrity fragrances have a reputation for not being of particularly high quality. It is often the names and image of the stars that sell the fragrance, not necessarily the quality. In this article, we take a look at some of the most popular celebrity fragrances currently available and rank them based on reviews from fragrance platforms such as Fragrantica and Parfumo.
12th place: “Pink Friday” by Nicki Minaj (2012)
Fragrance notes: Mandarin, Gardenia, Musk
Rating: 6.67/10
“Pink Friday” may attract attention with its bottle, but the fragrance itself? Rather less so. It is barely perceptible, seems watered down and oscillates between slightly sweet and sour – a mixture that quickly fades. If you’re looking for a statement fragrance, you’d better keep looking. But hey, at least the bottle looks good as a decoration – perhaps for the next Halloween party?
Parfumo, Galaxus
11th place: “Fame” by Lady Gaga (2012)
Fragrance notes: Incense, honey, orchid
Rating: 6.78/10
The first perfume with black liquid. Unfortunately, it didn’t wow as many people as Lady Gaga might have hoped. The fragrance itself is less dramatic than expected. Instead of mystical and rebellious, it seems rather ordinary and falls short of expectations. Incense, honey and orchid sound like an exciting mix, but the spark just won’t ignite. So if you thought you were buying a perfume that was just as edgy as Gaga herself, well… the dark liquid was probably the most exciting component here.
And even though you can no longer buy it, we still wanted to consider it, because the presentation simply remains special – just like Gaga herself.
Parfumo
10th place: “Cosmic” by Kylie Jenner (2024)
Fragrance notes: Star jasmine, amber, vanilla
Rating: 6.88/10
Kylie Jenner’s “Cosmic” – the most popular perfume of the year, which nevertheless only made it to 10th place. People find it rather basic and not exactly exciting. Sure, the combination of star jasmine, amber and vanilla is nice, but is it really worth the money? It smells good, but so interchangeable that you could compare it to a bargain from the discount store.

9th place: “Glow” by Jennifer Lopez (2002)
Fragrance notes: Neroli, Amber, Musk
Rating: 7.18/10
“Glow” by JLo was one of the first big celebrity fragrances and has achieved cult status. However, it is lower down in this ranking because the fresh, almost soapy fragrance is more drugstore than glamorous. For many, it is more of an everyday companion than a statement perfume. Despite the criticism, “Glow” scores points with its bottle, which is adorned with a small piece of jewelry. So if you are looking for an uncomplicated, fresh fragrance and want a touch of JLo glamor, this is the right fragrance for you, but don’t expect an olfactory adventure.

8th place: “Heiress” by Paris Hilton (2006)
Fragrance notes: Mimosa, honeysuckle, tonka bean
Rating: 7.32/10
“Heiress” is a fairy tale in fragrance form – sweet, fruity and so floral it’s almost kitschy. This fragrance seems to be aimed specifically at a young audience, with an aroma reminiscent of chewing gum and lollipops. While some find the playful note charming, others see it as childish and not really elegant. Perhaps this is precisely the reason why it is not higher up the rankings. If you are looking for a fragrance for glamorous evenings, you won’t find it here – because “Heiress” is more reminiscent of a children’s birthday party.
Parfumo, Galaxus
7th place: “Naomi Campbell” by Naomi Campbell (1999)
Fragrance notes: Coconut, Heliotrope, Vanilla
Rating: 7.43/10
Naomi Campbell’s fragrance brings an unexpected note to the world of celebrity perfumes. With a hint of coconut and a powdery sweetness reminiscent of freshly showered and groomed, it’s classy, if not particularly memorable. Many agree: it’s pleasant, but not the kind of fragrance that takes your breath away. Perfect for anyone looking for an inconspicuous but loyal companion – nice, but not indispensable.

6th place: “Fantasy” by Britney Spears (2005)
Fragrance notes: Kiwi, Cupcake, Woods
Rating: 7.48/10
“I’m Mrs. Extra, Extra, Extra, Extra” – and that’s exactly what Britney Spears sums up with “Fantasy”. With tangy kiwi and a creamy cupcake note, this fragrance is the sweet, nostalgic dream that everyone needs. The pink bottle with glitter is a real eye-catcher and perfect for anyone who wants to feel like a princess. Sweet and seductive, it is reminiscent of warm caramel and melted chocolate – ideal for those who want a slice of the sweet life.

5th place: “M” by Mariah Carey (2007)
Fragrance notes: Marshmallow, Gardenia, Patchouli
Rating: 7.57/10
“M” for marshmallow – and this perfume is a true symbol of sweet seduction. With this fragrance, Mariah Carey has created a feminine yet luxurious gourmand that has nothing to do with light, fleeting perfumes. The combination of sweet marshmallow and delicate, floral notes of gardenia creates a warm, cozy fragrance that is reminiscent of the cozy Christmas season. “M” is definitely not a fragrance for shy souls; its intense longevity ensures that you can still smell it the next day.
Parfumo, Galaxus
4th place: “Cloud” by Ariana Grande (2018)
Fragrance notes: Lavender, coconut cream, woods
Rating: 7.74
“Cloud” is a sweet, fluffy fragrance that is perfect for those who like it light. With notes of lavender and coconut cream, it is the ideal companion for young, playful souls. The kitschy bottle screams for attention, but might be a no-go for minimalists and lovers of elegant designs. If you’re looking for something masculine or complex, this is not your scent. Overall, “Cloud” is a good and simple fragrance that rightly made it to 4th place.

3rd place: “Nude Suede” by Kim Kardashian (2021)
Fragrance notes: Lavender, Ylang-Ylang, Sandalwood
Rating: 7.75/10
Kim Kardashian’s “Nude Suede” has earned 3rd place. This fragrance combines floral lightness with warm, woody notes to create a chic yet cozy aura. Perfect for anyone looking for a subtle but appealing fragrance for everyday wear. It stays close to the skin and gives everyone that certain something – without being overpowering.
Parfumo, Galaxus
2nd place: “Salted Muse” by Bella Hadid (2024)
Fragrance notes: Sea salt, fig, cedar wood
Ranking: 7.88/10
This perfume perfectly captures the scent of a summer’s day by the sea – fresh, salty and with a subtle earthy note. It brings the feeling of having just stepped out of the sea and is reminiscent of warm rays of sunshine on salty skin. Ideal for anyone looking for something uncomplicated that still stands out. The mix of sea salt, fig and cedar wood creates a clean yet sensual aura that has that certain something. A fragrance that is simple yet extraordinary.

1st place: “Eilish” by Billie Eilish (2021)
Fragrance notes: Candied flowers, vanilla, tonka bean
Ranking: 7.97/10
And there we have it, the clear favorite. “Eilish” has won people’s hearts and earned first place. With its sweet, chocolaty notes and familiar vanilla, this fragrance is simply irresistible. The combination of warm, spicy and woody accents makes it a perfect companion for all vanilla lovers. Whether for everyday wear or a special occasion, “Eilish” is the fragrance that sweetens every moment.
