“I feel most beautiful when I take my make-up off and it’s just me.”
Ashley Greene
Goblin
This season, we’re dancing around the gold cauldron with leprechauns and stealing their gold coins. How do we do that? Camouflaged with kitschy green eyeshadow that beautifully emphasizes our eyes and gives them a good energy boost to keep up with the little Hutzelmännchen. A welcome change from the traditional muted colors that make our faces fall asleep just thinking about them.
Oh, Honey!
Although we won’t walk over dead bodies for healthy hair, we do occasionally call on queens to help us – namely those from the bee kingdom: “Gisou” is the name of the hair care line from Dutch beekeeper and influencer Negin Mirsalehi, who is already the sixth generation to extract honey from her family’s own honey bee farm. The focus here is on the well-being of the bees – and on ours. Thanks to the bees, care products are created according to traditional family recipes that ensure particularly well-groomed and beautiful hair – which also smells wonderfully sweet. gisou.com
Weightless
In summer, we don’t see the point of slapping high-coverage foundation on our freshly tanned face. Instead, we prefer to use light day care with a hint of color: “Sisley Phyto-Hydra Teint” moisturizes our skin and makes small impurities disappear in an instant. It also has a sun protection factor of SPF 15, protecting our problem child from harmful UV rays. It’s clear as day: this nourishing cocktail of plant extracts deserves a regular place in our beach bag.
The show(er) must go on
There are few things that take more effort than jumping into the shower while sleepy. But as soon as the warm water rolls over your skin, you don’t want to get out – a paradox. To boost our initial motivation, pampering care showers from Lavera are waiting for us this season. The vegan shower foams, free from microplastics, impress with their pleasant fragrance and transform our bathroom into a true oasis of well-being. After all, the best way to start the day is freshly showered and dressed up.
Cotton Care
For each make-up removal routine we use approx. three cotton pads, or five if the mascara is particularly stubborn. Extrapolated over a year, that would be no less than 1,825 cotton pads that end up in the bin. We don’t want to play the moralizers, but why burden the environment unnecessarily when there are other ways? The make-up remover pads from The Body Shop, made from bamboo and organic cotton, are machine washable and reusable. The gentle pieces allow make-up to be removed for seven days before we throw them in the wash in the 100 percent organic cotton bag and prepare them for their next use.
Swampy
Yes, we also rolled our eyes when we discovered the wet look as a “new” trend again. But this time it’s going to be a little different: In addition to conventional gel, we’re also adding plenty of glitter and color to our hair. Whether the look is suitable for everyday use or not is debatable. But who is going to pretend that the style can only be worn on the red carpet and not on a Sunday stroll to the bakery?
Supportive
Finding a good facial care product is sometimes more difficult than parking sideways. This comparison may sound banal, but just a small slip-up, a small inconsistency, leads to a skewed, or impure, end result. This is now a thing of the past: the young Berlin-based company Farar provides us with a care set consisting of a wash gel, face cream and organic argan oil that nourishes and hydrates our skin all round. With these products, we are not only doing something good for our skin, but also promoting girls’ education and sustainable consumption. And now that we finally have our skin under control, we can get back to parking. farar.de
