Beauty news in March

We show you the latest beauty products that make make-up and creams fun, as well as the coolest beauty looks from the catwalk.

“Lipstick is the most valuable weapon in a woman’s make-up kit.”

Monica Bellucci

The Look

Nymph

Moths are drawn to the light – and we are drawn to places where the music is particularly loud. That’s why we keep looking at this look from Annakiki, the bleached brows, the questioning eyes and those beautifully embellished lips that officially liberate black lipstick from the gothic genre at this point.

The Force is with you

We sat in front of the TV for over 18 hours to capture the extent of the war of the stars. We now spend at least as long in front of the mirror when we apply Pat McGrath’s Star Wars-inspired make-up products to our faces. After all, there’s a lot to discover: Mascara in pink or blue, for example, iridescent eyeshadow palettes that make every Darth Vader or C-3PO fan cheer when closed, or sparkling lip gloss that pulls every star out of the sky for us. Pat McGrath, Eye Shadow Palette Star Wars in “The Golden One”, approx. 40 – patmcgrath.com

New Product

Lights on

No more space in the bathroom? Then come up with products that combine several functions and make other tubes and jars unnecessary. With “Strobe Dewy Skin Tint”, Mac provides us with a hybrid that cares for the skin and creates highlights at the same time. Shea butter, glycerine and hyaluronic acid hydrate the skin, while pigments contained in the gel cream scatter the light like a prism. This ensures beautiful skin that belongs in the spotlight. Mac, “Strobe Dewy Skin Tint”, approx. 46.-

Prima donna

How does the wet look get rid of its grunge image? With a comb, scissors and a hairband that brings this style back to the red carpet and into the limelight. Want an example? Available from Roberto Cavalli.

Nice to have

Sleep well

Do we treat our heads to the soft cushion and our lipsticks to the wooden drawer at most? The Seletti cosmetic bag is the perfect home for our favorite products. And that’s not all: when rummaging in the depths of our bag, the pink of the purse shrieks at least as loudly as the hunted actress in a “Scream” movie. Seletti, cosmetic bag with lipstick print, approx. 55.-

Personality

A perfume is self-confidence sprayed on. And as such, we naturally look for one that captures our character perfectly. It’s worth taking a look at the creations of the Swiss label Pernoire, which sees perfumes not just as fragrances, but as individual characters. Their passion for fragrant waters catapults Nico and Robin’s friendship out of the sandpit and into the beauty industry. Together, the Basel-based company tinkered until five fragrances were waiting in their flacons for new skin. Our favorite: Amoral, a blend like a freshly brewed masala chai, which causes a stir with black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, sandalwood and tonka bean. And for sniffing after anyone who dares to spray amorality. Pernoire, “Amoral”, Extrait de Parfum, 50 ml, approx. 195(pernoire.com)

Earthbound

Nowhere is the green more lush and the black darker than in Iceland. Nature shows its purest side and throws diamond-shaped ice and stormy waterfalls at our feet. But that’s not all: various plants that Angan uses for its beauty products grow here. The reason? Wild nettle, dandelion, red clover, thyme or yarrow can cope with the cold and also arm our parched cheeks against the nasty weather. Packed with vitamins and minerals, Angan’s creams work like a woolen balaclava: they protect, soothe and regenerate our skin and reduce inflammation. It is produced in Iceland, creamed all over the world – and hopefully soon in your bathroom too. anganskincare.com

Crystal clear

Lip gloss is back with the 2000s. Will we throw up our hands or nibble our lips in bliss? Incidentally, we can leave the latter off right away, as the clear gloss is not the least bit forgiving. So we first scrub our lips smooth with a scrub, then pamper them with a generous amount of balm and only apply the gloss a few minutes later – over and over again and just as lavishly as here at Max Mara.

We love

My Heart will go on

Where it says heart on it, there is a lot of heart in it. This is not a brittle phrase, but true, as Elizabeta Zefi puts everything she has to give into her products. It combines the experience of her life as a hairdresser in Berlin, Los Angeles, New York and Zurich, lots of plant-based superpowers and even more intelligent ingredients that deliver what is promised. There are seven lines to choose from – simply labeled and recognizable, and yes, that’s not a given in the beauty industry, where people like to throw around a lot of vocabulary and clever-sounding formulations. Whether regeneration, growth, volume or extra care: 24 products provide every head of hair with what it needs most. Rarely has fine hair been so plumped up after washing or brittle hair so silky.
