The national-conservative government, the Catholic clergy, discrimination and nationalism – yes, Poland’s current state of affairs is causing frowns and stomach aches. Whether anger, despair or burgeoning hope: 26 Polish photographers express their emotions in their art, which will be on display from 10. September 2022 until 1. January 2023 in the exhibition “State of Emergency. Polish Photographic Art Today” at the ZAK – Center for Contemporary Art in Spandau.

Polish photographic art today They work quietly and mostly without the attention of the world, but now the ZAK – Center for Contemporary Art is dragging them into the spotlight: 26 Polish photographers are showing their work as part of the group exhibition “Ausnahmezustand. Polish photographic art today”, she presents her view of the local society. Photographically, the young scene settles accounts with the government, the church and all those for whom tolerance, respect and acceptance are foreign words. The group exhibition “Ausnahmezustand. Polish Photographic Art Today” takes place from 10. September 2022 until 1.
