Ferragamo: The Joy of Loving

Kris Jenner in Ferragamo’s holiday campaign “The Joy of Loving”

Love brings joy—and so do handbags. In Ferragamo’s new holiday campaign “The Joy of Loving,” Kris Jenner steps into the role of director and talks about the importance of love and family.

Kris Jenner as director: Love is in the air

Love is the cornerstone of life. Without love, there’d be no laughter—and without laughter, no life. It’s not for nothing that people say, “Live Laugh Love.” Even if that phrase makes many think of a throw pillow on a millennial couch, Ferragamo is reclaiming it for its holiday campaign, “The Joy of Loving.” The cast includes personalities from music, fashion, and film. Kris Jenner takes on the role of director and shares what love and family mean to her.

The casting is a clever move: hardly anyone embodies the theme of family quite like Kris Jenner. As the mother of Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Rob, Kendall, and Kylie—and the manager behind one of pop culture’s most famous family empires—she’s stood for decades as proof that family and success can go hand in hand. In “The Joy of Loving,” she guides us as director through the stories of different couples, siblings, and families—and shows that love is the most beautiful tradition you can pass on.

Who’s behind the campaign?

Ferragamo itself was born of love, too: Salvatore Ferragamo felt a deep love for innovation and creativity—and an even greater love for his family. Hoping to give them a better life, he founded the fashion house. The legacy stayed in the family, with his wife Wanda—right through to today’s Creative Director Maximilian Davis. The brand’s cinematic style carries through in the campaign: it was directed by Clara Cullen, photographed by Ilya Lipkin, and the celebrities were styled by Miyako Bellizzi. In front of the camera were model and activist Paloma Elsesser with her brother Sage; the Womack sisters; the band Bar Italia; actress and director Joan Chen with her daughter Audrey Hui; Nancy Banks with her son Benny Buckley; Jezmi Fehmis with his partner, model and stylist Ch’lita; and Sofia Testino with her loyal four-legged companion, Syko.

Hug Bag and Cara Bag: fashion that connects generations

The collection brings out the season’s favorites: the Hug Bag and the Cara Bag, plus shoes ranging from satin pumps with crystal-embellished Gancini elements to classic Vara ballerinas and intricately decorated gold stiletto sandals. The message: just as love is passed down through generations, treasured fashion pieces should be, too. And if we’re being honest, one of the favorite bags in our closet is always Grandma’s.

You can find the Ferragamo Holiday Collection in the Ferragamo online shop.
