Menswear for fall/winter 2026/27 brings back the classics – Chesterfield coats, turtlenecks – but leaves nostalgia at the very back of the closet. Some trends I’m happy to subscribe to, while others are questionable: Bermuda shorts in winter? Okay, I will allow it. Skinny and destroyed jeans were also seen on some catwalks, but to be honest, I’d rather have a Dry January than elevate them to trends.
The top 13 menswear trends for fall/winter 2026/27
So that you can integrate them into your wardrobe soon enough.
1. the modern Chesterfield
The classic Chesterfield wool coat returns to the catwalks from New York to Paris and is worn with the attitude that style is inherited, not learned.

2. the blouson
With a zipper and tailored: Blouson jackets are replacing biker jackets this season. And to be honest, if you don’t have one yet, it’s high time you did.

3. the sophisticated down jacket
The down jacket, a winter go-to that for some inexplicable reason has entered the fashion vocabulary, is finally getting sophisticated this season – more creative, and with signs of personality.

4. elegant turtleneck sweaters
Turtleneck sweaters for winter? Not a revelation, but practical and with added sophistication for the coming season.

5. second-skin tops
Second-skin tops may look good on catwalks with flattering light and slim bodies. But if you can’t remember the last time you were on a weight bench, this trend might not be for you.

6. deep cut-outs
The necklines are deep and careful skin care is therefore recommended.

7. sweater vests
Sweater vests are making a strong comeback. Avoid the “mothball-from-grandpa’s-closet” look; character and styling are everything.

8. high-waisted, loose-fitting pleated pants
High-waisted, loose-fitting pants are all the rage and make up for the awkward detour via skinny fit that some designers tried on the catwalks for fall/winter 2026/27.

9. loose-fitting pinstripes
Pinstripe pants are back, with a high waist, loose cut and combined with everything except a matching jacket.

10. bermudas in winter
Bermudas defy winter logic – good luck with that.

11. crocodile optics
Crocodile structures cover jackets, pants, shoes and bags, smell of money and give PETA activists plenty of reason to take action.

12. shirt-out styling
Shirts hang loose, hems are visible – proof that creative freedom thrives when responsibility is optional and ironing is aggressively entrepreneurial.

13. soft messenger bags
Messenger bags are back. Popular with men who cosplay productivity, carry chargers and e-cigarettes and avoid backpacks, responsibility and anything that looks like real work.

Menswear for fall/winter 2026/27 focuses on tradition and re-styles it. Archetypes are refreshed and deliver a clear message: think carefully and dress consciously.
