For fall/winter 2026/27, IM Men is launching the Formless Form collection, which sees winter as something to work with rather than just endure. With calm colors but thoughtful construction, it addresses the point in the season when gray skies and fatigue set in and clothing needs to offer more than just protection.
IM Men Fall/Winter 2026/27 Collection
Colors structure the course of the collection. It begins with restrained neutral tones – black, anthracite and gray – that reduce distractions and create a visual foundation. As the show progresses and the light changes, colors are gradually added: deep blues, yellows, soft pinks, reds and purples that evoke the sky from dawn to dusk.
Textile development forms the foundation of the work. Sculptural silhouettes are created from fabrics that react to heat and contract to shape the garments while remaining flexible. Outerwear is characterized by soft, hand-dyed color gradients and cuts that allow the garments to be altered through styling.
Traditional techniques ensure a subtle linear texture and visible human signature. Cast dyeing creates nuanced variations in the wool. Quilted outerwear provides warmth through volume rather than weight and emphasizes the technical restraint of the collection.
Overall, IM Men presents a collection that references the heritage of Issey Miyake without being reverential. Winter clothing is treated as an active system rather than a seasonal uniform. The structure is there, but never rigid. Formlessness is constructed, precise and intentional.
