Big nose, narrow eyes – Pietro Sassi tells us what’s written on Adrien Brody’s face.
The Americans adore the French because they adore Paris, this urinal of overloaded vanity. Because they find sausage-sized croissants chic and don’t understand the Parisian with his raised eyebrows, don’t understand how he swears at them, because the reverse is true: the French despise the Americans. For them, an unaesthetically chubby, vile people. Free of any sense of culture, dignity and everything noble that they themselves stand for. When an American receives a César, the biggest film award in the Grande Nation, it’s not because you sympathize with him, but because he can do something. And Adrien Brody is the only one to whom this currently applies. In the States, he was awarded an Oscar for his performance in Roman Polanski’s masterpiece “The Pianist” (2002). A stunning performance as a gagged Jewish-Polish composer crawling through the gutter during the Second World War. What can be said about Brody himself is that, like many above-average-looking, yet down-to-earth movie stars, he is a New Yorker – and will be seen this summer in the indie drama “Detachment”.
1 Adrien Brody has the greatest distance between his brows and eyes at the front, which indicates a systematic, analytical talent. Something you often see in engineers, but rarely in actors.
2 Brody grew up as an only child surrounded by intellectuals. The primal feeling of belonging, of spending nights together around the campfire, never really developed, he says. And if you’ve never been anyone, you have the opportunity to be anyone on stage. This requires three essential talents: You have to be able to empathize with other people, you have to be able to act and you need a keen eye, more precisely a narrow eye shape, it exposes the capable observer.
3. during the filming of “Summer of Sam” (1999), he broke his number one facial feature, his nose. No cosmetic corrections have been made, so it is still tall and strikingly narrow. The former is not an indication of a large privates, the latter of a lack of resilience. But Brody doesn’t need them, because he proceeds systematically (see point 1), approaching his goal step by step.
4. the tip of his nose is tilted downwards, from which we can conclude that Amazing Adrien, as he called himself during his career as a magician, knows how to influence his fellow human beings, provided he has the appropriate intentions.
5. the front edges of the 38-, from the 14. April 39-year-olds are strikingly distinctive. Adrien Brody has a good understanding of technology, which is probably one of the reasons why he was assembling cars in Queens back when Hollywood and its empty facades were far away and Halle Berry’s moist lips were even further away.
6 Gut feeling plays its part, but the facts are just as important to Brody before he makes a decision. We can see this in his upper lip, which is rather narrow but not thin.
7 “I was always sensitive and always dreamy,” says Brody, at least you can see the sensitivity on his chin. People with dimpled chins are not made of stone, an insulting remark can hurt deeply. The following applies. The greater the deepening, the greater the tendency to mimosa. With Brody, it’s pretty weak.
