The Christmas season can be quite sweaty: We spend hours trying to find suitable gifts for our loved ones, and as if that wasn’t enough, the pressure of wrapping beautiful presents weighs on us too. To prevent it from looking like a T-Rex with two left hands was at work, here are six useful tricks for beautiful gifts.
Wrapping presents
This not only saves wrapping paper and bows, but also nerves: pack the unwrapped gift in a pretty bag and decorate it with ribbons as you wish: That
‘s
it!
See through
If all presents were perfect squares, wrapping them would be half the fun. Unfortunately, most presents are bulky and literally refuse to be beautifully wrapped. The solution? Transparent film! Simply place the gift on the foil, gather it together at the top and tie it with ribbon. This makes it look pretty, even if it hasn’t turned out incredibly neat.
Wrapping gifts as sweet as sugar
To spice up a boringly wrapped gift a little, all we need are the recipient’s favorite treats. Be it chocolate kisses, marzipan bars or candy canes: Simply attach them to the wrapped gift with adhesive tape and we have literally sweetened the present.
DIY gift wrapping paper
Sometimes the wrapping paper in the stores is either too cheesy or too plain for us. This is where single-colour wrapping paper comes into its own: it can be embellished and personalized with the help of felt-tip pens.
In a glass
Preserving jars are not only great for storing food: With the help of gift ribbons, labels and stickers, they can easily be transformed into pretty containers for presents! (Of course, this only works with small gifts; a flat-screen TV doesn’t look very good in a jar).
The Plan B
Are you at the end of your tether because nothing really works? Fortunately, most stores offer the service of having gifts wrapped on site. It’s not very personal, of course, but it’s a welcome solution as a Plan B.
