“If I want to be alone, some place I can write, I can read, I can pray, I can cry, I can do whatever I want – I go to the bathroom.” Alicia Keys
Eye-catcher
We have learned how to wash our hands properly in the last few months at the latest. In addition to soap in all shapes and colors, another product has made it out of the stepmother’s corner and into the spotlight: disinfectants. If we have to get used to using it, then at least we insist on putting the stylish glass version by Zurich-based collective Soeder in our bathroom instead of the ugly drugstore plastic bottle. In addition to the look, the purely natural and, thanks to aloe vera, nourishing contents are also impressive. Soeder, “Natural Hand Sanitizer”, 100 ml, approx. 12.-
Le Chat Noir
Eyeliner has overtaken eyeliner in recent seasons. Hardly any look is as easy to pull off as raven-black eyes, so first emphasize the lower and upper waterline with the kajal, then sharpen the pencil and continue on the upper and lower lid. At Fendi, a little glitter eyeshadow under the eye brings the look from the 90s into the present. If you like, accentuate your lashes with a little mascara.
Sugar shock
With sugar in our blood, we rev up like wild Duracell rabbits. Paul Mitchell’s Neon Sugar Spray is to our hair what the Power Bar is to our energy. Tired hair is awakened from its slumber and moisturized at the same time. A few spritzes create volume and structure without weighing the hair down or making it stiff. The savior in our bathroom cabinet. Paul Mitchell, “Neon Sugar Spray”, 250 ml, approx. 20.-

Braids are cool. If only we didn’t have two left hands and no idea what the difference is between a herringbone braid and a French tail. Fortunately, there are reference books such as “The Braid Book” that will turn even the weakest braider into a braid artist. Important: always work with unwashed hair (improves the grip) and pull it tight when braiding, you can always loosen it later. And yes, braiding is a matter of practice, but let’s be honest: do we have better things to do right now? Sarah Hiscox and Willa Burtin, “The Braid Book”, Octopus Publishing Group, ca. 16.-
Don’t fly away
Instead of being ashamed of flying baby hair, we make a statement out of it. Frankie Morello’s hair is pulled far back towards his forehead and cheek during his show. To do this, tie your hair into a ponytail or bun, for example, and then pluck out matching strands. Depending on the amount and length of the hair, use a styling cream or pomade (for thicker strands) or just a little hairspray (for short, fine baby hair). If you want to create real waves, it’s best to grab a toothbrush and model them with patience and a steady hand from the roots to the ends.
So much better
The durability of nail polish correlates with our desire for new colors. It’s practical, but it’s damn bad for the environment, as we use a lot of cotton pads when removing our polish. Fortunately, there’s a better way: The Sign Tribe pads can be reused up to 25 times. The special material makes them particularly resistant, so that conventional nail polish removers and solvents cannot harm them. The pads are used in the same way as their absorbent cotton brother, after which they are washed out with soap and water and then dried. The Sign Tribe, “Remove and Chill Reusable Nail Polish Remover Pads”, three pieces, approx. 17.- (www.flaconi.de)
