Especially on March 8, International Women’s Day, we need to emphasize this more: We don’t want flowers, we want society to change for the better. Although we won’t say no to a few pretty flowers on top. Or a pretty bag: Longchamp supports women in Madagascar with the NGO Anaka.
Education, work, wages – that’s what women need to move further towards equality. If talent and creativity are available but cannot be put to use anywhere, it does no one any good. Longchamp has therefore joined forces with the NGO Anaka for the third season. This supports women in Madagascar by helping them to find work, providing education for children and focusing on environmental protection.
With dexterity to the craft bag
When fashion does good, shopping is really worthwhile. For the 2025 summer collection entitled “Live Green!”, the teams at Longchamp and the craftswomen at Anaka are focusing on a traditional material and an ancient art. Raffia is grown on a large scale in Madagascar. The fibers of the palm tree are ideal for weaving as they are both strong and supple. This is demonstrated by the handmade raffia bag in lush green and the bucket hat: these pieces make you want to travel to the nearest beach straight away. In 2024, the collaboration between Longchamp and Anaka enabled 40 women to work in the Anaka workshop and 66 children to attend school.
