Nikon puts female photographers in the spotlight with "Female Facets"

Women belong where they want to be, for example behind the camera lens. Nikon has created “Female Facets“ has created a platform that gives visibility to female photographers, whether amateur or professional. The winning photos from last year’s competition will be on display at Nikon Plaza in Egg from March 7.

Unfortunately, we know that women and their talents are often overlooked. In photography, too, it is important not to always just talk about photographers. That’s why Nikon has launched “Female Facets”. The initiative offers female photographers from the DACH region an opportunity to make their visual art visible and accessible. In the meantime, “Female Facets” has become a lively community of women who share their passion for photography, support each other and grow together. It accompanies female photographers on their creative journey and offers them valuable resources to achieve their goals. At the heart of “Female Facets” is a large photo competition in which female photographers can present their favorite snapshots and tell the stories behind them. It doesn’t matter whether they are beginners or professionals. After all, photography is for everyone. The participants are advised by experienced Nikon photographers and experts, who act as mentors and support them with creative ideas and know-how.

Exhibition of the winning pictures in Egg

To make his work truly visible, an exhibition is needed. What could be a better exhibition venue than Nikon’s Swiss headquarters? From March 7, 2025 – to coincide with International Women’s Day – you can view the winning images from last year’s competition on site. The Nikon Plaza in Egg will be exhibiting 25 award-winning works. The exhibition will kick off with an opening ceremony on Thursday, March 6, 2025, and will be open to all photography enthusiasts – regardless of gender, experience or background – during the regular opening hours of Nikon Plaza from the following day.
