You want to go there, where the wind blows around your nose, the salty air, the sea, the limestone, a poem of a backdrop. We are talking about Capri, the Italian island on the Gulf of Naples, only ten square meters in size, but what does it matter. Everything is just right here, from the food to the people to the nature. Joy is in the air, pure joie de vivre, la dolce vita. On Capri, you come to rest, relax, unwind and somehow find yourself naturally. Like Francesca Settanni, who runs the La Parisienne boutique on the island and reveals the hotspots of her home country to us this month.

Living
Those staying at Punta Tragara are rewarded every morning with a breathtaking view of the Faraglioni rocks. Not quite cheap, but definitely worth every euro! La Scalinatella offers Italian hospitality, lovingly furnished rooms and a terrace right by the sea. If you like it romantic, head to Caesar Augustus. The highlight, apart from the location high above the sea, is the infinity pool – simply wonderful!

Food
On Capri, it’s worth dressing up for dinner in the evening. Then you can sit down in the Aurora restaurant and eat freshly caught fish or enjoy the island’s typical limoncello on the terrace of the Paolino under the lemon trees. At full moon, be sure to reserve a table at Le Grottelle and try Luigi’s stuffed peppers by candlelight. If you are drawn to the beach for lunch or dinner, head to Torre Saracena, where owner Domenico treats his guests to fresh pasta every day.

Shopping
Traditional craftsmanship is held in high esteem in Capri. Do yourself a favor and explore the boutiques and stores hidden in the winding alleyways. At La Parisienne you will find clothing from local labels that produce on the island, while Canfora offers a huge selection of handmade sandals. Italian art can be admired and purchased at the Miniaci Art Gallery – a great way to pass the time. One of the best souvenirs are the perfumes, room fragrances and candles from Carthusia, which are also produced on Capri. The two boutiques Chantecler and La Campania offer exceptional jewelry for every occasion.

Party
On an island like this, you don’t go to an underground club to party, you just go to the beach. If you fancy music and dancing in the open air, visit Faro Beach. Cool parties are regularly held here by the light of torches and the sound of the waves. Sometimes more, sometimes less cozy, but always unforgettable. The hits of the charts play at Number Two, live music is played every evening at Anema e Core.

On Capri, it’s all about walking and discovering. If you still want to find out more, start in one of the streets Piazza Umberto I, Via Vittorio Emanuele III or Via Camerelle, where most of the stores and restaurants are located.

Must do
Those who simply can’t resist doing nothing and enjoying the sun can hire a gozzo, one of the typical fishing boats on Capri, and take a trip out to sea – with their own captain, of course. Then it’s off to The Quisi bar for an aperitif and an early dinner.

Events
Feast of the patron saint San Constanzo 14.05.
To celebrate the day, there is a colorful fair, fireworks in front of the bell tower and dancing and music under Capri’s starry sky.
