Every second person has defective vision. Trend: rising. So we wear glasses or contact lenses to be able to see clearly again. For 29-year-old Alessia Imberti, this was not a solution in the long term: the glasses got in the way during sport, the contact lenses felt uncomfortable, scratched, dried out the eye and even caused inflammation. The alternative: a lasting correction of defective vision with an eye laser or implants. The Pallas Clinics are the most experienced providers in this field in Switzerland. The right address for Alessia Imberti, who works at the Pallas Clinics of Dr. med. Myron Kynigopoulos, Head of Refractive Surgery, and later underwent surgery.
Imberti remembers: “Dr. Kynigopoulos, explained the laser eye surgery to me step-by-step. I also received all the important information and clarifications in writing and was always able to turn to him with any new questions that arose. I was completely satisfied with the advice I received. The doctors and the entire team were always professional and offered a very good service in addition to competent advice and information. I felt safe and in good hands.”
Despite all the answers, the detailed preliminary discussions and clarifications: Nervousness before a vision correction is normal. Imberti admits: “I was a bit nervous before the procedure. However, the treatment only took a few minutes and was absolutely painless thanks to the local anesthetic eye drops.”
Together with Dr. Kynigopoulos, Alessia Imberti opted for the Femto-LASIK method, in which practically every necessary incision on the eye is made with a laser – a painless and extremely precise method. After the procedure, she wore special contact lenses overnight and could literally see the result the very next morning: “I had 100 percent vision just one day after the operation. It was like a miracle! I had no complaints and was absolutely delighted.” After a few days, Imberti was already sitting in front of her screen in the office again. She only had to take care of her eyes when applying make-up or swimming for a few weeks.
Today, contact lenses and glasses are a thing of the past for Alessia Imberti. She enjoys life and her new freedom of vision: “The laser treatment was a complete success. It’s a huge relief in everyday life and a huge improvement in my quality of life!”she enthuses and recommends laser vision correction to all her friends and acquaintances: “However, I would advise anyone considering having their eyes lasered to be careful and choose the right clinic. I was in good hands with the professional team at Pallas Kliniken. It was the best decision to have this treatment carried out there. The only glasses I still wear now are sunglasses.”
