Patrick Pierazzoli: The fresh Queen
When I’m sitting in the car in the morning, relaxed despite the traffic jams and bad weather, smiling happily and bobbing my head like a dachshund on the parcel shelf, there’s only one reason for it these days: Amber Mark. The daughter of a German mother and a Jamaican father, who grew up between America, India and Berlin, makes me feel great straight away with her songs. Funk, soul, pop – all with a retro touch and very catchy. It all started for Amber Mark in 2016 when she uploaded her first song “SPACE” to Sound-cloud. Through DJ Zane Lowe’s show, the then 22-year-old made it onto the “Hot Tracks” list on iTunes and from there to number 35 in the “Global Viral Charts”. Any bet that the little one will soon be one of the really big ones. If you want to experience them up close, you should see them live this summer. For example on the July 1 in Berlin or on July 2 in Amsterdam. The organizers of the Pitchfork Music Festival describe it as follows: “Meet Amber Mark, whose soulful pop will make you dance and cry at the same time.”
Marina Warth: 47. Latitude
Hopefully, by the time you read this, summer will finally be here. Because as I write this, the rain is beating against the window and clouds are covering the sky. Is it because of climate change, Peter’s bad mood or simply the fact that you can’t get to the 47th floor? latitude has nothing more to expect from spring? So be it. Studies, packaged in clever words and published in magazines that have about as much in common with ours as Kim Kardashian has with natural beauty, prove just how important serotonin is for humans. To put it pathetically: sunshine goes straight to the heart, runs through our veins like a happy four-legged friend at the sight of his master and manages to make even eternal grumblers shut up for a moment. Again, so much for why I’ve had enough of the bad weather. However, there are other ways to trick the body into believing it is happy and boost serotonin levels. In addition to the obviously illegal substances, there are also completely legal substances – sesame, for example, which is found in my favorite ice cream, which also happens to be my favorite color. And I lick it even during thunderstorms.
Marco Rüegg: Ideal measure
I recently had the privilege of marveling at the perfect specimen of a woman’s body for an entire yoga lesson. Thighs, hips, waist – optimal proportions. Legs down to the ground, with a healthy ratio of muscle to flab, emphasizing athleticism with an accent on the feminine curves. This body is also available as a guitar. It is called Les Paul and comes from Gibson in Nashville, Tennessee. The lady has a few years on her shapely back, having seen the light of day in 1952. From Marley to Dylan, rock stars succumb to their charms, Eric Clapton and Noel Gallagher put their hands on them, Jimmy Page and Slash are the inspiration for signature models. We will probably be able to admire her dream figure in the circus of rock’n’roll for several decades to come. The yoga class, on the other hand, was over after 55 minutes.
