Patrick Pierazzoli: Teamwork

I don’t want to be a killjoy, but sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is also a train. On our way back to normal, we should not forget that the virus is still here and that we will hit the train with full force if we are stupid. As long as there is no vaccine or effective medication, this is our reality – let’s face it. We have to buy every new freedom with personal responsibility and discipline in order to prevent the figures from exploding again and us sitting at home again in no time at all. So anyone who is worried about our economy, our freedoms and our society as well as their health should wash their hands, keep their distance and wear a mask until further notice. Protective masks work and help people to get by with as few restrictions as possible. They also save lives – how cool is that! I buy my hygiene masks online at carelane.ch, because there’s a special 30% discount for FACES makers and readers (code: FACES30).

Marina Warth: Chocolate side

2020 is like biting into a raisin roll when you were actually expecting chocolate chunks. And then you start to cull, because it would be a waste of food to throw the whole roll away. So we do what we always do: We make the best of it. Instead of collecting miles, this includes simply seeing what’s on your doorstep. Matterhorn, Lake Constance, Lucerne Chapel Bridge – so much for the obvious. We also include places and locations that #travelforlife Instagrammers have neglected so far, but which prove once and for all that Switzerland has more to offer than large packs of Lindt chocolate and overpriced fondue parlors in Zurich’s Niederdorf district. The most beautiful destinations that do not yet have hashtags and are not on every Chinese tourist group’s program can be found, for example, in the book “Wo die Schweiz am schönsten ist” (Merian, approx. 24.-).

Marco Rüegg: Ready to go

Karl May wrote the screenplay of my childhood, as Winnetou and Old Shatterhand we rode across the playgrounds of the suburban prairie. I like to think of myself as a kind of big city cowboy when I cycle to the lakeshore on my two-wheeled Primadonna, wind in my hair and only the bare necessities on my body. In summer, the latter becomes a problem: cell phone, wallet, bunch of keys – it’s impossible to fit everything in your swimming trunks. Eureka, say the Zurich pocket pioneers from Freitag, after all, the Westman doesn’t carry his Colt in his trouser pocket either. But in a halter strapped around the hip. Hipbag Jamie solves my dilemma, looks chic and even feels like a gun belt. Will you rob a stagecoach for the 120 francs you need? Your business!
