There are lots of great places to relax in Zurich, but most people always go to the same places. We show you the coolest parks and hidden green spaces where you can relax in the middle of the city’s gray.
Bakery facility
After a delicious Sunday morning brunch at Kafi für Dich, a nice digestive walk through the bakery is just the thing. What used to be the old Platzspitz has developed into a beautiful park. If you still need some action, you can sit down at the skate park next door and marvel at the skating talents.
Location
GZ Wiese
After a visit to Sphères, we quickly cross the red bridge and are already on the beautiful GZ meadow. The perfect picnic spot in summer, this park offers great views of the Limmat all year round. Don’t forget your table tennis racket!
Location
Joseph meadow
Behind the viaduct arches lies the family-friendly Josefwiese. If you like meeting creative people, this is the place for you. This is where groups meet to barbecue, play boccia or volleyball and where bookworms can relax. In addition to various playgrounds, you can also enjoy a chocolate melange in the fine kiosk.
Location
Rechberg garden
Also known as Zurich’s hidden park. The staircase-like complex from the Baroque period is located directly next to the university. The beautiful red benches offer a wonderful view of the surrounding area.
Location
Schindler estate
The Schindlergut is a real insider. Only a few people know this park – and that’s a good thing. While the Obere Letten is the place to be, this little spot offers plenty of space and is therefore an ideal place for families with children.
Location
Lindenhof
Not to forget the good old Lindenhof. A square which, despite its central location, should have a much higher priority. After all, the wonderful view over Zurich and the Limmat is more than worth the short climb.
