Un-Dress Fashion Award The winner is
Basel-based duo Emma Kistemaker and Lorena Madarena celebrate minimalism in the closet with their label Manusia.
Manusia’s first collection includes four statement pieces, two of which are the convertible trousers and the cool white blouse.
Manusia has its clothing produced sustainably and fairly in Turkey.
Beeyond print their favorite, the bee, on socks, T-shirts and co. The name says it all, as Fabian Zbinden and Giacomo Travaglione support various bee conservation projects with their label.
Beautiful bikinis that are also sustainable: That’s what Delaia Tschannen, the founder of Palmar, is committed to.

On 21. The Basel label Manusia was chosen as the winner of the Un-Dress Fashion Award on April 1, 2021. Second and third place went to the streetwear label Beeyond and the label Palmar, which specializes in sustainable swimwear.

The world is going to the dogs. Fortunately, there are people who act. In the fashion industry, this includes the Un-Dress project of the St. Gallen university association Oikos, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Twelve sustainable Swiss fashion labels took part in the Un-Dress Fashion Award Show. The jury decided on 21. April, it was not easy to weigh up the different concepts and collections, while the audience voted for their favorites based on their gut feeling. Fair production, sustainable materials and short transportation routes are the main concerns of these labels, which agree on sustainability but could hardly be more different in their collections. In the end, it was the Basel duo Manusia whose collection consists of four pieces that everyone should have in their closet. The prize: a two-week presence at PKZ in Zurich. Second place went to Beeyond, the fashion label that not only celebrates the bee as its logo, but also ensures its survival by collaborating with various local bee projects. Manusia and Beeyond are joined on the podium by Palmar, which specializes in the production of cool swimwear made from recycled nylon and polyester. As different as the three winners are, nature, the environment and sustainability are equally important to all of them.

If you want to attend the Un-Dress Fashion Award Show from 21. April 2021, you can watch it at www.un-dress.ch.

The winners of the Un-Dress Fashion Awards 2021 will present their collection from 3. to 15. May 2021 at PKZ on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse. Don’t miss it when the Basel fashion label Manusia presents its sustainable fashion for almost two weeks.

Un-Dress not only honors sustainable fashion labels, but also promotes sustainable thinking in the fashion industry after its award show. Therefore, on 5. The Un-Dress Fashion Business Talk, where sustainable fashion companies discuss the industry, will take place via Zoom on May 1, 2021.

And because fashion that you use for a long time is still the best, Un-Dress is organizing a fashion event on 12. May 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Macelleria d’Arte in St. Gallen for another of his Clothings Swaps. Those who bring clothes in advance pay an entrance fee of 5 francs, everyone else gets a ticket for 10 francs. At the event, you can then take home as many items of clothing as you like. So that some people’s discarded clothes bring joy to others for a long time!
