The Nest – The Cambrian Adelboden

The Nest – The Cambrian Adelboden

Is it the fall or the interior of The Cambrian hotel that makes us want to hole up inside forever? Well, at the Adelboden hotel, comfort comes at the same time as the room key is handed over. This leads to one of 71 rooms, all of which have been designed with a love of cool design and an even greater understanding of comfort, so that the nasty autumn weather even plays into your hands to spend as much time indoors as possible. Each room is unique – which makes every individualist’s heart beat faster than a whole armada of stage dancers. A pat on the back goes to Dutch designers Johan Bouman and Jeroen Wand, who bring clean lines, warm natural tones and hip designer furniture to the Bernese Oberland. The Cambrian is a cocoon that envelops you like an intimate embrace and only lets you go again when the wind and storm have passed – both inside and outside in the Swiss Alps, where Peter occasionally indulges in gloom at this time of year. Not so bad, as you can enjoy splashing around in the hot outdoor pool in the spa area even when the mountain backdrop disappears in the mist. Fresh and refreshed, it’s then off to The Axe Bar, where, in addition to well-known classics, hay schnapps, lime juice and ginger beer are put through the shaker and then served as an Axe Mule. Just as well, the restaurant is not far away: Bryn Williams at the Cambrian bears his master’s name and celebrates the local produce that lands on the plate from mountains, lakes, rivers and farms with a stopover in the kitchen. This brings us full circle to The Cambrian, a place in the Bernese Oberland that creates a home away from home.

Any wishes? Not a single one after this outlook.
Longing for the mountains? Then off to The Cambrian, the hotel in Adelboden that turns even die-hard city dwellers into Alpine fetishists.
The world can end – we’ll just stay inside and make ourselves comfortable in The Cambrian.

Ski, sled or simply enjoy?
Stylish and so cozy that it’s hard to leave.

The Cambrian

A Latin hotel name, who would have thought it! In fact, the Welsh origin of the owner, Grant Maunder, is hidden behind it, who has not been able to get away from these walls since a skiing vacation in the Bernese Oberland over 40 years ago. A dream in the 80s, a reality in 2009: Maunder and his brother bought the hotel and gave it the cozy yet stylish character that attracts Swiss city dwellers and tourists from far and wide to tranquil Adelboden. 71 rooms, a spa, a bar and a restaurant are surrounded by historic walls that give Welsh hospitality and Swiss charm a home away from home.
