Luxury Caravan
It’s at the top of many bucket lists: a trip on the Orient Express. Well, you have to save money. But we still have some time, because the old carriages are currently getting a face lift. From 2025, the train will shine in new splendor and take travel enthusiasts from Venice via Vienna to Budapest or from Prague to Paris, for example. And because we still have time until then, there’s a little bit of history on top: the idea for the luxury train came from the mind of Georges Nagelmackers, a Belgian engineer who worked in the 19th century. He traveled through the USA by train in the 19th century and founded the company behind the Orient Express on his return. Only the finest of the finest for the ladies and gentlemen who bought the ticket and traveled from Paris to Istanbul: Teak wood, leather armchairs, knotted carpets and, of course, only champagne in crystal glasses. Back to the here and now: The train, freed from dust and the past, has just been unveiled in Paris. One look at the interior and it’s clear that it’s worth saving on the ticket.

Memories
Why do we take photos? To capture the moment. This only works to a limited extent, as there is always one thing missing that touches our soul and brings us mentally back to where we were free and simply happy: the smell of distance. One&Only and Montroi are now providing a remedy with a collection of fragrances inspired by the most beautiful places in the world and with names that kindle wanderlust like a gust of wind on a campfire. Fancy a splash of Rwanda or a pump of the Maldives? Bring it on! One&Only X Montroi, 15 fragrances, 100 ml each, approx. 180(montroi.com)

Two Faced
One minute we’re on the beach, the next we find ourselves at the airport. A crass cut, oh yes. So that we can still retain a little vacation feeling despite the falling temperatures, we’re pimping our flip-flops with the puffer tops from the collaboration between Havaianas and Market. The lined upper is connected to the footbed with a zipper to keep your toes warm. Havaianas X Market, “Zip Top 2-in-1 Puffer Flip Flops”, approx. 100(havaianas.com)

Artist’s Tribute
110’500’000. There are already a few zeros on it. A lot of money for a picture, but as we all know, art knows no boundaries. In 2017, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s skull on a blue background went over the counter for the same amount. It’s amazing, isn’t it? Well, our piggy bank will never get that fat, but thanks to Samsonite, the next Basquiat is not quite so unattainable: Samsonite is putting two works by the artist on its C-Lite suitcases made from recycled PET bottles, which are now rolling through customs with us. And this is much easier than with the original in your luggage. Samsonite X Jean-Michel Basquiat, “C-Lite Artist Collaboration”, limited, from approx. 560(samsonite.com)
