At the sight of dogs or full plates of sushi, Lina Uhrig’s
eyes to shine. Her heart would beat even faster if she had a bright green house by the sea somewhere in Florida, but so far it’s all rather wishful thinking. However, the Munich school tutor and content creator works hard for her dreams, as she reveals in an interview.
FACES: How did you become an influencer?
Lina Uhrig: More or less by chance. My passion for producing photos and videos began in the 5th grade. class, and since about My Instagram account already exists in 2013. I’ve always enjoyed being inspired by social media – and then in 2020 I simply started to get active!
F: What does your normal working day look like?
LU: As I have two jobs, it’s always different. I’m in the classroom until 2 pm. When I get home, I check my calendar and produce photos and videos for clients. Depending on the job, I need help and go to different photo spots in Munich with a friend or my boyfriend. I then send the finished content to the companies and customers. I like to be inspired by Pinterest and plan my next outfits for photos and videos.
F: How long do you tweak a photo before you post it on Instagram?
LU: Sometimes two to three minutes – and sometimes 30.
A look into the future
F: What will you be doing in ten years?
LU: In ten years, I’ll be living by the sea with two or three children and two or three dogs. And hopefully I’m still working in a creative and flexible job.
F: A prejudice about influencers that isn’t true at all? And one that is true?
LU: It’s definitely not true that influencers are all superficial. I find many of them to be reflective and I really appreciate that in my colleagues. Influencers get lots of cool products sent to them… that’s right!
F: Coolest invitation you’ve ever received as an influencer?
LU: The opportunity to go to Copenhagen Fashion Week was amazing. And being invited to the shows on site was really mega cool!
What is an influencer?
F: What is your definition of an influencer?
LU: For me, influencers are inspiring and creative people who manage to get their followers excited about things.
F: Who do you stalk yourself on Instagram?
LU: Matilda Djerf!
F: The best compliment you’ve ever received for your work?
LU: It’s always nice to hear when people find me inspiring and authentic, or rather, a good person. down to earth. I also like to address profound topics, for which I get a lot of encouragement.
F: At what moments do you wish you were more anonymous?
LU: If I’m mentally unwell for several days or weeks, I can’t just disappear. This is not always easy.
Where Jana Uhrig prefers to shoot
F: Which pictures from your feed do you like the most?
LU: I particularly like all the pictures that were taken in New York in April. I love this city, and I think I radiate that too.
F: Where is your favorite place to shoot?
LU: At the opera in Munich.
F: What’s on your mind the most right now?
LU: Since I’m two hours away from my home and my family, I’ve been thinking a lot about my family. I am an absolute family person and therefore often miss them.

F: What are you particularly proud of?
LU: To my Bachelor’s degree and the fact that I can manage two such different jobs at the same time.
F: Who is your role model?
LU: In terms of style, definitely Matilda Djerf and Hailey Bieber.
F: What do you collect?
LU: sneakers and blazer.
F: What experience will you never forget?
LU: All Christmas celebrations with my family. Such a wonderful time!
The love of money…
F: What would you like to receive as a gift?
LU: I wouldn’t say no to my absolute dream bag from Saint Laurent. (laughs)
F: What do you like to spend money on? What not for?
LU: I love spending my money on good food and delicious coffee. Especially for traveling, but less for refueling.
F: What do you want people to say about you?
LU: You can only judge a person when you know them personally. On social media, you only ever see a selected fraction. I am always happy to receive kind words about my style.
