Our Top Picks from the Sézane Fall Collection

Time flies faster than we can organize our closets. Still, our summer clothes need to slowly but surely take a back seat and make room for everything that will see us through the colder months. A few fashion lovers from the FACES team reveal which Sézane pieces are heading straight into our fall wardrobes.

Josefine, Senior Editor

The summer was long and hot. Too long and too hot—and I say that as a sun-worshipper who withers like a high-maintenance houseplant without enough daylight. Because when it comes to fashion, fall is and always will be prime time. I can layer up, show off my jacket collection, and finally wear sweaters again. In Sézane’s fall-winter collection, there are a few pieces just waiting to snag a spot in my fall wardrobe.

Firmin Cognac Coat

“Shearling is back,” everyone was saying as the fall-winter fashion shows took place. A little bit of fur around the neck keeps you warm—and when you’re tired, you can snuggle up in it. The color and cut of this jacket remind me of a time long before I was even born. And romanticizing past decades is one of my favorite pastimes.

Theo Tomette Sweater

In my apartment, colorful accents in every corner lift my spirits—from the pink table to the purple closet. That closet, however, remains somber, because I love neutral-colored clothes and every shade of black and gray. But a cozy sweater in tomato red? I absolutely have to have it.

Sac Maxi Solal Café

Who still remembers my growing and thriving bag collection? Well, it’s still growing and thriving, much to the detriment of my poor bank account. But I still haven’t managed to find a bag that fits my laptop. So, next purchase: this large model in a gorgeous coffee shade.

Yume Caramel

Every few years, I get the urge and buy some kind of hat or cap, vowing to finally start wearing headwear. And then, you guessed it, I wear it at most once, and it disappears somewhere in the back of my closet. Maybe this furry piece will finally turn me into a cap-wearer?

Nadia, Fashion Director

Fashion Week has officially begun, and with Milan and Paris just around the corner, it suddenly hits me: I have absolutely nothing to wear! As a fashion director, of course, it’s not enough to just show up—what matters is, such as wherever you go. Dressing up just to be photographed? I’m not interested in that. The days are exhausting, the weather is unpredictable, and sometimes running after a press bus is just part of the chaos—so being able to sprint comfortably is a must for me. However, these practical requirements should never compromise true style. With that in mind, these are my top picks from the Sézane fall campaign.

Matthias Coat

I love investing in coats! Your coat says a lot about your style and reveals a lot about you even before you open your mouth. This season, I’ve got my eye on a brown coat, and the “Matthias” coat from Sézane fits perfectly into my overflowing coat collection.

“Arya” Blouse

Since fall is the season when people like to wear multiple layers, it’s all about the details. The “Arya” blouse features so many interesting elements that you can play around with when putting together outfits; depending on how you style it, each detail can be incorporated into at least three different outfits.

Le New 70s Pants

The last time I owned a pair of corduroy pants was when I was a teenager! Back in the ’90s, we were absolutely obsessed with corduroy in every color of the rainbow. Now I’m ready to add a pair of well-fitting, well-cut corduroy pants back to my wardrobe. The rich chocolate brown of the “Pantalon Le New 70s” totally appeals to who I am right now—the pants are already in my shopping cart.

Sac Solal at a Café

Last but not least—I need a new bag. Since I’m pretty clumsy… I spilled some Coke in my bag the other day, which sent my MacBook straight to the Apple intensive care unit. Of course, I also need a new bag that’s both comfortable and stylish—one that can hold my office gear and more during my jam-packed Fashion Week schedule. The Sac Solal in Café is the perfect choice.

Alicia Buchs, Editorial Intern

In the fall, the world turns into a runway—and for me, that’s public transportation. Since I spend about three hours a day on public transit, it’s guaranteed never to get boring. It’s a constant give-and-take: While I’m judging my fellow passengers’ outfits, I’m also at risk of being scrutinized myself. Add to that the unpredictable fall temperatures: In the morning, the bus feels like Antarctica because the heater isn’t working, while on the upper deck of the train it gets so hot that beads of sweat form on my nose. To be prepared for every temperature and every self-proclaimed fashion judge, I’m turning to Sézane’s fall collection.

Antonio Epice Vest

I’ll admit it honestly and openly: I’m addicted to jackets. Somehow, no jacket is ever “the one,” but I still have to have every jacket I like right away. I’ve been in jacket withdrawal all summer, and it’s definitely time for a new one. After this one, I’ll stop… I promise.

Edgar Chocolat Sweater

There’s a skylight right above my bed. When the rain pounds against it, it almost feels like a simulation. In moments like these, I love to curl up, listen to the melody of the raindrops, and sketch in my notebook. A cozy, brown sweater whose dark color takes away my worries about possible pen stains? Simply perfect!

Jade Blouse

I no longer save my nice shirts just for special occasions—I enjoy pairing them just as much for a totally relaxed coffee date. There’s hardly anything nicer than when the colored collar peeks out from under my jacket. Back in the day, my dad’s old shirts used to serve as painting smocks, but if someone were to do that to one of my shirts today, it would be an absolute nightmare!

Red Jules Bag

Although I love small bags, they often get overlooked in my closet, probably because of their understated colors. The Sac Jules, on the other hand, makes a bold statement with its gorgeous shade of red and adds an eye-catching pop of color to simpler outfits.

There have been some changes at Sézane. Read on to find out what’s in store for the brand and how a new boutique in Paris fits into the picture.
