What do you have to achieve to be considered an icon? Two things that at first glance seem to be at opposite ends of a spectrum: to be timeless – and at the same time to constantly reinvent yourself. This summer, Bvlgari is aiming the spotlight at the collections that have long since become icons: Serpenti, B.zero1, Bvlgari Tubogas, Divas’ Dream and Octo.
The six legendary Bvlgari collections are all instantly recognizable. But what gives them this iconic power? On the one hand, it is the unmistakable DNA of Bvlgari – deeply rooted in Rome. Where else? Roman influences can be found in every creation: from the mosaics that inspired the fan-shaped silhouette of Divas’ Dream, to the architectural volumes of the B.zero1 rings, to the octagonal geometries of Octo and, last but not least, the symbolic depth of Serpenti, which has always stood for transformation and renewal – the cultural heritage of Rome is omnipresent.
But the Maison wants to develop them further. That’s why this summer, the icons are not only being celebrated, but also closely scrutinized. From July, Bvlgari will be giving a select global audience rare insights into the Maison’s craftsmanship with exclusive “Eternally Iconic Masterclasses” by Jewelry Creative Director Lucia Silvestri and Watch Creative Director Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani.
